Lower back pain is often linked to poor foot biomechanics, misalignment, or gait abnormalities that create excess strain on the spine. Issues such as flat feet, high arches, leg length discrepancy, or excessive pronation (rolling in of the foot) can cause an imbalance in the way weight is distributed through the body. This imbalance forces the muscles and joints of the lower back to compensate, leading to chronic discomfort, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
When the feet are not properly supported, shock absorption is reduced, increasing impact on the knees, hips, and lower back. Over time, this can contribute to muscle fatigue, joint pain, and postural problems that make everyday activities and sports more challenging.
At The Foot Room, we assess lower back pain through our biomechanical pathway, using advanced gait analysis to identify foot mechanics and movement imbalances that may be affecting your posture and spinal alignment. Treatment may include custom orthotics, strengthening and mobility exercises, gait retraining, footwear advice, and offloading techniques to reduce strain and improve movement efficiency. Our goal is to correct underlying biomechanical issues and help you move pain-free.
