As a provider of medical services, The Foot Room Ltd is required by law to record personal details of the patients that we treat. This includes name, date of birth, GP, contact details, medical history and medication.
The Data Controller is The Foot Room Ltd. The Data Processor is The Foot Room Ltd and PPS. The Data Protection Officer is Jen Royle.
Contact details and medical history are of vital importance for us to be able to carry out safe and effective treatments for you. Without this information we would be unable to provide our service.
We will use your personal contact details to confirm appointments and contact you about appointments. If you DO NOT wish to be contacted, please let The Foot Room know. We do not use your information for any other purpose than providing Podiatry services.
Your data is stored on PPS, a cloud based clinical software program that is safe and secure. Only the staff at The Foot Room have password protected access to this information.
We do not share your information with anyone other than other medical professionals, such as your GP, to assist in your medical care. In the event of a medical emergency, we will divulge relevant medical details to the emergency medical staff.
We are required to keep your personal information and treatment records for period of 7 years following the final date of your treatment, when they will be securely destroyed. Timescales for children and those with reduced mental health capacity are longer. The right to be forgotten cannot over ride the requirement for medical notes to be held for the afore-mentioned minimum retention of 7 years.
You have a right to request a copy of any information we hold about you. This can be obtained by submitting a written request.
Your consent is not required for us to keep this data, as it is required by law, however failure to provide it will mean it is impossible for you to continue to work for us.
Photographs are only taken when consent is given. All photographs are stored on a camera with access only to staff at The Foot Room. All photographs are anonomised.
We use CCTV in our waiting room for health and safety purposes only. The images are only viewed on the reception PC and the images are not recorded in any way.
We are registered with the ICO to hold electronic information.
If there is an information breach then the ICO and the data subject will be contacted immediately.
