Sometimes life takes you down a road you never would have thought of going, but due to an unfortunate foot injury of my own and the urgent need of some ultrasound diagnostics (Suspected fracture). I found myself back in familiar territory, laid on a past colleague’s physiotherapy bed, in the clinical premises, I once ran a podiatry clinic from many years ago.

After my consultation, Rebecca the physio and I were chatting away, like the good old days and she asked if I would be interested in starting up the podiatry clinic there again. It was a light bulb moment, I’d loved working there, the only reason I left the clinic was because maternity leave had called me away, but there was now no reason why The Foot Room couldn’t start up there. Within just a matter of weeks, the plans were in place for The Foot Room to join forces with Broughton Physiotherapy.

The Foot Room’s experienced HCPC registered podiatrist, Alice, will be running a clinic at Broughton Physiotherapy on a Monday. As the clinic grows, additional appointments and hopefully days will be added to the diary. The podiatry clinic opened in January and we are so pleased with the success so far. We cannot thank you enough for your support.

Alice has a special interest in Biomechanics and orthotic therapy and our patients have also reaped the benefits of having a combined allied health professional team working together.  Already one of Broughton’s physiotherapists and our podiatrist have worked alongside each other, creating the perfect treatment plan for a patient.

The Foot Room will be offering Traditional Podiatry/Chiropody, Fungal nail treatments and Gait analysis/biomechanical assessments and orthotic therapy at our Broughton Clinic. Our specialised verruca therapy, ingrowing toe-nail surgery and spa treatments can be discussed at Broughton but will mainly be carried out at our Longridge Clinic.

We are so happy that my foot injury, led me to see my good friend Rebecca for some diagnostics, as a new journey has begun for us all…
